🕊️ Introduction
Jesus told Nicodemus, a religious man, “You must be born again.”
This teaches us that church attendance, good works, or family background cannot make us God’s children. Only spiritual rebirth can.
Christianity is not behavior change—it is life change.
🔥 POINT 1: Why We Must Be Spiritually Reborn
John 3:3 – “Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
-
We are born physically as humans, but spiritually separated from God by sin
-
Sin nature is inherited (Romans 3:23)
-
Religion can clean the outside, but rebirth changes the inside
👉 Pentecostal emphasis:
Salvation is an encounter, not a ritual.
🕊️ POINT 2: What Spiritual Rebirth Really Means
2 Corinthians 5:17 – “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.”
Spiritual rebirth means:
-
A new heart
-
A new identity
-
A new spiritual nature
You don’t repair the old life—God gives you a new one.
Old things pass away:
-
Old desires
-
Old bondage
-
Old spiritual death
🔥 POINT 3: How We Become God’s Children
John 1:12–13
We become God’s children by:
-
Believing in Jesus Christ
-
Receiving Him as Lord
-
Being born of the Spirit
Not by:
-
Bloodline
-
Culture
-
Church membership
👉 Salvation is personal and supernatural.
🕊️ POINT 4: Evidence of Being God’s Child
Romans 8:14–16
Signs of spiritual rebirth:
-
Desire for holiness
-
Conviction by the Holy Spirit
-
Love for God’s Word
-
Hatred for sin
-
Inner witness: “Abba, Father”
You don’t just say you are saved—the Spirit confirms it.
🔥 POINT 5: Benefits of Being God’s Child
Romans 8:17
As God’s children:
-
We have access to God
-
We carry God’s name
-
We receive God’s inheritance
-
We walk in authority and victory
You are no longer a slave—you are a son or daughter.
🛐 Altar Call / Conclusion
Ask the congregation:
-
Have you been religious or reborn?
-
Do you know God as Creator or as Father?
Prayer Call:
-
For salvation
-
For restoration
-
For assurance of sonship
Closing Declaration:
“I am reborn by the Spirit. I am a child of God. Old things are gone. I walk in new life!” 🔥🙌
